When I was young!

Here are my brother and I when we were small, patiently waiting along side our driveway TRYING to sell water for 5 cents a glass. We weren't very successful that day, and I remember the few people that did walk by seemed to be very amused at our attempt to make a dime but politely declined the offer.

After realizing the water just wasn't moving we went inside and asked mom if there was anything...anything else we could try to sell. Sadly our only option was a head of cabbage but that didn't stop us. We brought the bowl of shredded cabbage out to the table next to the water and soon after we saw the new kids on the block (Phong and Trang, whos family came from Laos) pull up to the driveway in a station wagon. They piled out of the car and ran over to see what was going on, then they ran home and asked their parents for money and came racing back. My mom looked out the window and watched, amazed, as we sold the whole bowl of shredded cabbage.
Those were the days.

Poor Grandma

The family wheeled Grandma out on the lawn, in her wheelchair, where the activities for her 100th birthday were taking place. Grandma couldn't speak very well, but she could write notes when she needed to communicate. After a short time out on the lawn, Grandma started leaning off to the right, so some family members grabbed her, straightened her up, and stuffed pillows on her right. A short time later, she started leaning off to her left, so again family grabbed her and stuffed pillows on her left. Soon she started leaning forward, so the family members again grabbed her, then tied a pillowcase around her waist to hold her up. A nephew who arrived late came up to Grandma and said, "Hi,Grandma, you're looking good! How are they treating you?" Grandma took out her little notepad and slowly wrote a note to the nephew... "They won't let me fart."

Back to School

This is the beautiful view outside of the Grant McEwan (Alberta College) Campus. What a spectacular view!
Today I had to see an admissions officer and view my results for yesterdays exam. I did excellent-ly with English (I tested above grade 12 levels) but math wasn't so great. I only tested at a grade 8 level. Or was it grade 10?!... Anyways bottom line is I stink at math and I was encouraged to find a tutor to help me.
So for the next year I'll be taking:
Math 10 prep, 10, 20 and 30
Biology 20 and 30
Chemistry 20 and 30
Social 30
English 30
Science 10
Computers, Level 2
Should be a very interesting year. First semester is Sept to December and I have Eng 30, Math 10 prep and Science 10. The last semester will be the worst...Computers, Chem 30 and Math 30. That'll be a humdinger!
